I have always wanted to know what year the state of Colorado became a state.

Colorado became a state in 1876, 100 years after the Declaration of Independence, which is why it is nicknamed the Centennial State.

Great question! Colorado became a state in 1876 under president Ulysses S. Grant. Did you know the population of Colorado in 1876 was approximately 40,000? Today the population is approximately 4.8million!
