Briseidy,

According to the United States Senate Inquiry into the RMS-Titanic(http://www.titanicinquiry.org/USInq/USReport/AmInqRep03.php), there were 2,223 people on board the ship, and 706 of them were saved. You can find out more about the RMS-Titanic by visiting these websites: RMS-Titanic, Inc., or RMS Titanic, by Wikipedia.

Briseidy,
My name is Doctor Tims i just wanted to anwser your question.
Yes it is very sad to know that 1517 people died on the titanic but a very over looked fact is that many dogs also died. Three dogs survived the sinking of the Titanic - a Newfoundland, a Pomeranian, and a Pekingese. I remember that Pomeranian puppy named sassy was always going to the bathroom on the main deck and people were getting very upset about it.
